Welcome to my Kindergarten class! My name is Holly Schaefer and this will be my 12th year of teaching at North School. I graduated from Lincoln University in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education and an area of concentration in Instructional Technology. My love for using technology in the classroom led me to William Woods University, where I am obtained my Masters in Teaching and Technology. My first year was spent teaching half-day kindergarten. Due to my contract, I joined the team of third grade teachers for two years. Now I am happy to say that I am part of the kindergarten team again!

I’m dedicated to making this a busy, productive, and fantastic year for all of my students.  In order for your child to excel in school, you and I will need to become a team. I feel it is important for you to review concepts we are covering in the classroom as well as read, read and read some more. The more vocabulary your child hears, the easier it will be for them to learn to read. Picture books are great to read to them but also start introducing them to easy chapter books. Nonfiction material is also very important too. By reading signs, maps, grocery lists, menus or newspaper articles, you will show your child that reading is an important skill that adults use daily. Together we can make a great team for your child!
